About the area

Wakefield, Québec is a charming town on the edge of the Gatineau River, about 30 minutes north of Ottawa by car. It is located on the beautiful lands that the Algonquin and Anishinaabe have called home for countless generations before us.

The village is a vibrant little tourist hub home to bakeries, bars, cafés, shops, and restaurants. Swimmers will find many opportunities to dip, either in the Gatineau River or one of the many lakes near town. Of course, there are plenty of restaurants serving our beloved national dish of fries, cheese, and gravy.

For folks who are staying longer and making a trip of it, Ottawa has tons of cool museums and art galleries. Please don't hesitate to ask us if you need recommendations of any kind.
